DON’T GIVE UP! Beginners need to persevere!

When I first started to examine Internet Business and Marketing it was extremely overwhelming. There were gurus talking on subjects that I didn’t even know existed let alone understood and I all too often felt like that new kid in school. Everyone was talking amongst themselves yet no one was talking to me. It could have been very discouraging and I could have easily thrown in the towel and went on with my life. Never knowing the joy of living the lifestyle I always dreamed of.

I didn’t give up, and trust me when I say, I still have those days where I feel like everyone is speaking another language BUT…I made a decision a long time ago that I was going to stick with this, figure it out, and take it to profit even if it took me years to do it. I figure I have nothing to loose and a whole lot to gain so I am hanging in there until I am living the lifestyle I want and deserve.

You may be saying “…and?!”

Well here is the ‘and’. I would like to offer some suggestions for those beginners out there who may be feeling discouraged right now and are thinking about giving up and Suggestion #1 is DON’T GIVE UP! Of all the tens of thousands of people who begin Internet Business, 80-90% quit before they reach profit. That is a sad statistic but it’s true. Too many people quit before they reach their goal.  DON’T BE ANOTHER STATISTIC!

Although it may seem like Internet Business and Marketing is impossible to understand at first, it does get easier to understand as you go. Here are some great suggestions to help keep you motivated.

PERSEVERE
There are two GREAT quotes that I have mounted firmly in frames on my desk. I look at them daily as a reminder to persevere.

If you want to succeed in Internet Business you have to decide right now to stick with it!  This does not mean that you have to spend every dollar you have buying every product that comes your way.  That is NOT necessary in order to make it.  Determination and perseverance, however, ARE!  What seems hard now will become easier as you go.  Just keep on plugging along.

PLAN TO FAIL

I don’t care how much education you do or do not have, what your background is, who you do or do not know, all of us will fail at some point.  We will make mistakes (as humans do) and we will trip every now and again.  WE ALL DO IT! Get in the mindset from the start that you are going to fail at something.  Hopefully, it will be a small ‘something’ but trust me, you will have a hiccup.  The key to surviving the failure goes right back to #1 – DON’T GIVE UP.  Making mistakes along the way is how we learn.  No one starts out playing Motzart when they begin piano lessons.  They practice until it is perfect.  It is the same way in Internet Business.

If you plan to fail from the beginning it will be that much easier to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move forward.

STAY FOCUSED

Staying on task and focused will prove to be invaluable, especially to someone who is new to Internet Business and may be learning and testing it while they are still working full time.  Make TTD (things to do) lists and stick to them.  Learn one piece of the puzzle at a time, absorb it fully, then move on.

You will come into contact with many types of business ideas in Internet Business.  I suggest you finding one that seems to spark a definite interest and then FOCUS! FOCUS! FOCUS! on that ONE model.

UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS NOT “GET RICH QUICK”

I think one of the inherent problems with learning this type of business model is that everyone thinks it is some “get rich quick” idea.  If they don’t start making money in 48 hours they immediately give up and figure it is all just a bunch of hype.  Unfortunately, too many people try to sell to your emotions and this has given Internet Business a bad rap.  It is definitely NOT “Get Rich Quick”.

Internet Business is just that, a business, and as with any business it will take hard work and dedication to get it up and running.  It’s true that you can find some programs that promise overnight riches and some might actually work FOR A SHORT TIME but true Internet Businesses will sustain.  They are made up of solid business models just as any other sustainable business is.  If you are looking to get rich quick in internet business then I promise you will quickly be disappointed.

STAY MOTIVATED

Have you ever been to a great seminar or attended a uplifting sermon or inspirational event?  Have you noticed how you were SUPER CHARGED and ready to take on the world after it?  Then did you notice how quickly that feeling would fade when you were dropped back into your normal day-to-day drudgery?  I think most of us have felt this.  It can be very discouraging.  Well, here is a great trick to keep that feeling alive. 

Seek out positive and inspirational experiences everyday.

There are many ways you can stay motivated.  Join a forum of like minded people, a mastermind group, listen to inspirational tapes, read uplifting books and blogs, converse with people who are doing what you are doing and talk about your achievements/obstacles.  Just seeking out others who are in the same mindset can keep you moving along.  Especially through the trying times when you are doubting yourself.

Always surround yourself with positive people and media.

Listen to a podcast about your interests or buy an audio book from someone whom you found to be inspirational.  Whatever it takes, just keep seeking out those positive experiences.  It will keep you motivated!

Fall 100x, read 100 books, try 100 programs, just DON’T GIVE UP!  You don’t want to be just another Internet Business Statistic!  You are already in it.  Why not stay for the ride?
